Moonlighter
Original Brand & Design Concept
Fox, moon and night-blooming jasmine–the three components of the Moonlighter emblem.
While hashing out ways to unite the three, a simple fox sigil found online proved to be a fantastic piece of inspiration. Of all places, the artwork was from a Game of Thrones-themed furry convention, and I loved it. The circular design stood out and guided the Moonlighter art in a new direction. The revolving flow created between the fox and jasmine vine presented an easy, charming balance. The typeface was layered over a stylized watermark for the impression of moon shadow. Lines stacked in a gradient transition the label from day to night.
Because Moonlighter focused on small, one-off releases, the back label strip was printed without vintage, project designation or production quantity to allow for diversity of application. The back label copy focused on generalized production techniques rather than granular details for the same reason. When vintage and cuvée are changed, the original COLA still applied. Print runs were maximized for value and a hand stamp completed the package with a personal touch.
